thebluthcompany: cinematicshit: I love Arrested Development but I have no love for its crazy fans who quote everything even the lines that are not that funny and talk about it all the time and make all their Facebook cover photos into screenshots from the show.

I did 3 sets of 12 squats at 90 pounds last night!! That is definitely a record for me, in my current level of fitness, though my personal best a few years ago was 190 pounds, so…I have a ways to go before I get back there. But it was hard and felt so good to do it!

Craft vs Hobby
Yesterday, I sent a baby blanket I made to the friend with the baby, and the woman working at the post office counter in the grocery store was chatting with me about knitting. When I asked if she was a knitter, she said she attempts it, but isn’t very good. And then went on to say that having a full-time job just doesn’t leave her enough time to really get very good at it, and maybe...

I’m on season 4 of Doctor Who, and I love David Tennant as the Doctor so much that I am dreading when Matt Smith takes over. I’ve never seen Matt Smith in anything, but for some reason I just kind of don’t like his face. Although, I loved Christopher Eccelston, and I still loved David Tennant too, so I’m sure I’ll adapt. Also, I’m still not quite enough of a...

Shower Beer
I was in the shower after getting back from the 5k tonight, and Brad popped his head in, stuck his arm in and sat a cold beer on the shelf, proudly proclaiming, “I brought you a shower beer!” He thinks one of the great pleasures in life is to have a beer in the shower when you aren’t showering to go to work or something. He was right. It was heavenly and felt slightly...

First ever 5k PR
PR stands for personal record, right? Anyway, my time today (walking) was 43:50. I’m doing another 5k tomorrow (I didn’t realize when I signed up for these two events that they were in the same weekend) which I plan on walking as well, but I’m hoping to at least match the time I got today. Me, tomorrow: Race walkers are the best. Look at dem hips!

If you recall, last night, I was super craving a donut. The reason for that was because our new office cafeteria always has delicious looking donuts and I wanted one yesterday morning, but didn’t get one. Well, I just got a sandwich from the cafeteria, and considered getting a donut, but I didn’t because I didn’t want to be the chubby girl buying a donut at the office cafeteria....

I just unfollowed someone who has a mainly ballet-themed blog because she posted a photo of a bare torso that focused on the protruding ribs of the model. I follow ballet blogs that only have images and gifs of dancers, none of the unhealthy body image stuff. I don’t personally get really triggered by stuff like that, but I still think glamorizing those images is unhealthy for a lot of...

Ok, I watched The Office finale now, so I can actually get back on the internet. Loved it! That’s all I will say, so as to avoid any spoilers :) But it was perfect and ended in such a satisfying way!

I really want a donut right now. Like a delicious freshly baked donut. A hot Krispy Kreme!! You’d think I was high or something, but I just really like donuts.

Just got back from seeing Les Miserables at the Pioneer Theatre Company, the local Equity theatre. It was so great!! As my friend I went with said, totally washed the bad taste of the movie away! I was bawling at the end tonight, and when I saw the movie all I was thinking was thank heavens it’s over and I can finally leave!

bringingyoucarasue replied to your post: Which is better to try and pay off first: A lower… Always pay off the debt with the highest interest rate first. Put any debt in order of highest to lowest rate and focus any extra funds on the debt with the highest rate until it is paid off and then move your way down. You save the most this way. Thanks, Cara!

Which is better to try and pay off first: A lower balance, lower monthly payment, but higher interest rate credit card OR A higher balance, higher monthly payment, but 1% interest rate credit card? There’s got to be some Tumblr folks who know how to math and money!

So…I thought I would give Mint.com a try and see if I can successfully budget at all (probably not) and for the “Alcohol and Bars” category the default amount is $20 a month. Yeah, ok.

When I tried to read Atlas Shrugged in my early 20s, I felt bad about the fact that I got less than a quarter of the way through it and already hated myself for having even read that much. It was just awful and I could not see what the big deal was with this stupid book. I hung out with a few fellows at that time who considered themselves to be the tippity-top of thinking and LIFE, man, and I...

So, I watched the “Blink” episode of Doctor Who last night. And I remembered why I stopped watching Doctor Who. It’s super lame, but I CAN’T watch anything scary. Especially on a night like last night when Brad was gone working over night again, and as I was going to bed, I kept having visions of terrifying statues stalking me. I know not all of Doctor Who is terribly...

OMG Brad is watching conspiracy theory videos about the Sandy Hook shooting, and people who think that what we think happened there isn’t the whole story. I really worry that he’s gonna join the tin foil hat crew one day. He REALLY likes conspiracy theories.

– Thomas S. Monson (via hellanne) Life motto (via lissak06) I wonder how many people on Tumblr know that Thomas S. Monson is the president of the Mormon church. Even if you don’t agree with the church, President Monson is a pretty cool dude.

Brad had to work over night last night, from about 10pm-2am. I never sleep well when that happens, because I’m always waiting for him to get back and wake me up. At around 1:30am, Zoe started barking like crazy, and I was so disoriented and like, mostly asleep but kind of awake, that when she ran to the kitchen barking, I followed her there and like, stood around super confused as to what...

My debit card number was stolen, and someone made a bunch of charges. Joke’s on them though, because the card was declined for a number of them because I’m a broke mo fo! Luckily, Chase Bank was all over it, and I immediately got both a text and email about it, less than 20 minutes after it happened! My card is canceled, they are sending me a new one, and crediting back all the money...

My Racist Encounter at the White House... →
I don’t need you to “tolerate” me. I don’t want you to merely put up with my presence. All I ask, all I have ever asked, is to be treated as a human being, that bigoted jingoism is not injected into every minute facet my life, that there remains at least the illusion of decency. This is just terrible. Anyone who thinks we live in a “post-racial” society needs...

Why Girls Hate Game Of Thrones →
unforgettabledetritus: whynotshesaid: geekgirlsmash: nudityandnerdery: thegood-morrow: arewhedonyet: Game of Thrones ranks somewhere on the Girl Dislike scale between NASCAR and that National Geographic show where the guy sticks his hand in a catfish’s mouth. If you’re clueless as to why she’s intent on harshing your TV buzz, here are some telltale clues. “It’s hard to follow.”...

All the news about the factory collapse in Bangladesh, and the 1,000+ people confirmed dead, so far, has made me think about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. 146 people died in that fire in 1911, and it completely changed the state of factory work in New York, and consequently, America. That is a paltry number of deaths compared to the loss of life in the Bangladesh factory collapse. This is...

Crazy
So… I signed up for my first 5k for next Saturday (which I haven’t prepared for at all). My company is having a company 5k that Friday before. I signed up for that one too, but to walk it. I’ve walked 3+ miles two days in a row, just a couple weekends ago when I walked to the park for Brad’s disc golf tourney! I’m pretty confident I will survive next Friday and...

Merida's Makeover Sparks Outrage And Petition →
esofine: imnotthatkindofgirl: Merida, “Brave’s” red-headed heroine will be crowned Disney’s 11th princess on May 11. And just in time for her royal induction, the animated character has received a head-to-toe makeover — she’s thinner, her eyes are wider and … So Disney decided to induct Merida as a princess, but despite her wild popularity they deemed her not pretty enough to be a princess...

Our CEO is coming in today from Copenhagen, and everyone is freaking out. Yesterday they sent out an email telling us we had to remove all non-work related items from visibility at our desks. One person wrote back and asked if that meant personal pics as well, and that we shouldn’t have to have totally impersonal work spaces. They replied and said personal pictures are ok. I had to take...
